About Us
Perkin Electrical was established in 2011 by director Jack Perkin. Soon after, he developed a passion for all things EV and began to work towards the goal of specialising in this field.
In 2015, our company worked on the first Victoria Tesla dealership in Cremorne. This enabled our team to redirect the business into a field it was passionate about, whilst building relationships and forming important partnerships. For almost ten years, we have been one of the top certified installers for both home and commercial DC charging for Tesla – arguably the most influential company in the EV market.

Our Aim
In 2024, Perkin Projects was created with the goal of owning, operating, maintaining and managing public charging sites across Australia.
Our aim is to do this in a manner that promotes local businesses. Most DC public chargers are installed with as much power as possible, as this offers the best return on investment from a charging operator’s point of view. This, however, doesn’t benefit the surrounding businesses.
Our chargers are fast enough to attract customers, but take around one hour for a full charge, giving drivers enough time to do their shopping or have a bite to eat.
Last October, we completed the installation of a public charging site at Kingston Village Ocean Grove. Since its completion, it has attracted 900 drivers to the site, with an average dwell time of about 40 minutes. The charging site has a Plugshare score of 10/10, with many drivers also leaving comments about the local cafes and shops. The centre’s landlords use this to show their tenants that they are doing their part to increase business traffic.
